Prairie State Generating Company is looking for college students who are interested in a summer intern program in the Facilities Department of the power generation and coal mining industries. A limited number of internships are available for college students enrolled in a specific curriculum. Participating as an intern will provide experience and exposure to state-of-the-art technology in coal mining and power generation operation. Student interns will receive industry experience, hands-on training, paid internship and exposure to industry professionals.
The Electrical, Instrumentation/Controls Intern assists with installing, troubleshooting, calibrating, repairing, modifying, overhauling, diagnosing, testing and maintaining all power plant and auxiliary equipment, to include power distribution systems, pumps, motors, programmable logic controllers (PLC) and the Distributed Control Systems (DCS). Provides environmental and safety stewardship. Ensures compliance with all applicable Federal and State regulations and plant procedures. Assists in maintaining all equipment in optimum operating condition. Assists in developing procedures for plant and equipment monitoring systems to ensure consistent and environmentally compliant operations.

The Mine Maintenance Manager will direct the maintenance department in day-to-day activities and comply with established policies, procedures, laws and regulatory requirements. This position will provide leadership, management and administrative oversight for all assigned mine maintenance personnel including, but not be limited to, scheduling, training, motivation, coaching and counseling as required. The Mine Maintenance Manager will be accountable for supervision, planning and preparation, quality assurance, duration, cost and completion of all work assigned to the mine maintenance department.
