Summary
The Weekend Mine Supervisor contributes to the mine’s safety and productivity by managing underground mining activities during weekend operations and designated weekday shifts. This position serves as the acting Mine Manager on shift during assigned weekend operations and provides operational leadership support by filling supervisory roles as needed, including Section Supervisor, Assistant Shift Manager, or Shift Manager responsibilities.
The Weekend Mine Supervisor ensures the mine operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all State and Federal mining laws while coordinating manpower, production activities, safety initiatives, and workforce performance for assigned crews. This position exercises independent judgment and decision-making authority regarding operational priorities, manpower allocation, production delays, equipment downtime, and safety-related work stoppages during assigned shifts.

Compensation and Benefits
At Prairie State, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this role is between $106,000 per year salary exempt, and $ 125,000 per year salary exempt. Individual pay decisions depend on various factors, such as skills, qualifications, and relevant experience. In addition, this position is eligible to participate in the Company’s monthly incentive program.

Prairie State offers all full-time employees paid time off, accruing 160 hours annually with gradual increases based on length of service, as well as nine paid holidays per year. Paid maternal and paternal leave is also available to employees that meet the eligibility requirements.
