  • Overview

    The Organizational Effectiveness Manager provides a range of services on the development and implementation of key talent management strategies for creating and sustaining a high performing organization.  This position will create and implement staff and leadership development programs that support the organization’s succession planning objectives and foster a highly effective management and leadership structure. This position will be involved in the design, delivery, tracking and coaching of High Potential/Talent Program participants to accelerate the leadership development and business knowledge growth of junior, mid-level, and senior leaders.

    Responsibilities

     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Creates and implements staff and leadership development programs that support the organization’s succession planning objectives and foster a highly effective management and leadership structure.
    • Design and develop training programs to address organizational goals and objectives and manager’s departmental needs
    • Design and redesign program content and tools to enhance values-based competencies and improve match between organizational goals and achievements of managers and employees
    • Design and deliver just-in-time training modules as needed/appropriate
    • Establish and maintain comprehensive training programs for employee development at both the management and non-management levels
    • Considers external and internal alternatives to program design and, when appropriate, manages the request for proposal process to ensure appropriate external vendors are considered and cost negotiations are effective.
    • Manages ongoing relationship and effectiveness of vendors or trainers selected.
    • Manages Employee Engagement survey providing analysis, feedback, and action plan recommendations to improve engagement and retention.
    • Actively partners with Human Resources and business partners on human capital strategies initiatives (i.e. succession planning, learning and development) by conducting needs assessment, gathering and analyzing data, and preparing and presenting reports with findings and recommendations to senior leadership team
    • Makes assessments of effectiveness of training in terms of employee accomplishments and performance
    • Serve as an advisor in almost every facet of the Employee Life Cycle, from Onboarding to Career Development to Culture/Engagement, Training, and Communication
    • Assist in development and implementation of employee recognition programs
    • Partners with Corporate, Plant and Mine Leaders and manages organizational effectiveness projects such as culture change, reorganizations, performance management improvements, etc.
    • Performs other duties as required to support management and Human Resources Staff

    Education/Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training and Development, or related field required
    • Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Development, Industrial Organizational Psychology, or related field preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of internal consultation, facilitation, training and organizational development experience to improve work groups, teams, and organizations required
    • Dynamic presence with strong platform training and facilitation skills
    • Well developed, demonstrated skills in conceptualizing, researching, designing, conducting, and evaluating management, and staff development training programs.
    • Ability to complete full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate)
    • Demonstrated employee advocacy and a reputation as a neutral and approachable HR professional
    • Thought leadership, consulting, and hands-on design and delivery.
    • Previous change management experience
    • Previous success in influencing without direct authority and leading large scale, complex enterprise-wide change initiatives                                                            

    Certification/Licensure

    • CPLP certification preferred

    Knowledge of

    • Familiarity with traditional and modern job training methods and techniques
    • Experience overseeing an LMS preferred
    • Strong knowledge of presentation software

    • Works in a power plant or coal mine environment occasionally
    • Exposed to a quiet to moderately noisy environment primarily; very noisy and dirty environment occasionally.
    • Exposed to industrial safety hazards occasionally.
    • Overnight travel as business requires.
